At St George's Catholic School, our faith is at the heart of everything we do. Inspired by the teachings of Jesus, we aim to help every child grow in mind, body and spirit, developing not only academically but also as a thoughtful, compassionate and responsible member of society.
We believe that education is about more than what children learn in the classroom. It is also about the people they become, the relationships they build and the difference they can make to the world around them.
Our Catholic faith calls us to recognise the dignity of every person, to care for those in need, to act justly and to be good stewards of God's creation. These principles are reflected in our daily life at St George's.
Through our work towards the CAFOD Live Simply Award, our fundraising for those in need, our care for the local community, our environmental projects and our focus on peace, children are encouraged to put these values into action. We want them to understand that even small acts of kindness and service can make a meaningful difference, both locally and around the world.
Our commitment to these values is rooted in our Catholic identity and is something we seek to live out together as a school community.
We welcome families from a range of backgrounds and recognise the importance of each child's family, experiences and beliefs. We want every child to know that they are valued, that their voice matters and that they have a positive contribution to make to our community.
As a Catholic school, our Religious Education curriculum explores the Catholic faith in depth. It also provides opportunities for children to develop their understanding of religious beliefs and traditions, ask questions and reflect thoughtfully on the beliefs and experiences of others.
In keeping with the vision of Clifton Diocese, we seek to nurture children who grow in faith and hope, recognise the gifts of others and use their own gifts in the service of others. We want our children to develop the understanding, compassion and sense of responsibility needed to contribute positively to an increasingly diverse world.
At St George's, we want our children to leave us with more than knowledge and qualifications. We want them to be kind, courageous, respectful and hopeful; to stand up for what is right; to care for others; and to understand that they can help make the world a better place.
Our Catholic faith provides the foundation for this journey, and our school community gives children the opportunity to learn, grow and put these values into practice together.
